First meeting of the project advisory board

At the end of April, the project advisory board of North Rhine-Westphalia met for the first time in the Ministry for Environment, Agriculture, Conservation and Consumer Protection of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (MULNV) in Düsseldorf. The superordinate body allows for the exchange of technical and general information about the LIFE IP at the level of the federal state. It consists of representatives of the relevant stakeholders:

  • Higher Nature Conservation Authorities of North Rhine-Westphalia
  • Umbrella association of the Biological Stations in North Rhine-Westphalia
  • German Federal Environmental Foundation (Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt, DBU)
  • Institute for Federal Real Estate (BImA)
  • Landesbetrieb Wald und Holz NRW
  • Agricultural Chamber North Rhine-Westphalia
  • Westphalia-Lippe Agricultural Association (WLV)
  • Rhenish Agricultural Association (RLV)
  • Federation of Foresters of North Rhine-Westphalia
  • Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU), regional association North Rhine-Westphalia
  • Friends of the Earth (BUND), regional association North Rhine-Westphalia
  • Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Naturschutz und Umwelt NRW (LNU).

The participants received an overview of the basic idea and objective of the LIFE IP. After a brief presentation of the actions planned in the first phase of the project and their status, the elaboration of measures for Phase 2 was explained.

Questions such as the state of inclusion of the complementary actions, the concrete approach to planning actions and the involvement of the stakeholders in the coordination process as well as the required monitoring after the implementation of actions were answered.

The next meeting is scheduled for the first quarter of 2019.
