Spawning season of the common spadefoot toad has begun
In the breeding station in Enniger, the common spadefoot toads have started to spawn. During the last days, they deposited 13 egg strings.
In the wild, common spadefoot toads attach their thick egg strings to aquatic plants. In the breeding station in Enniger, these natural vertical structures for spawning are simulated via flowerpots and bamboo sticks in the basins.
