The common spadefoot toad in North Rhine-Westphalia – an interim conclusion after more than ten years of conservation action within the framework of the EU LIFE programme
Together with Christian Göcking and Norbert Menke from the NABU Nature Conservation Station Münsterland, which coordinates the rescue breeding and reintroduction of the common spadefoot toad on behalf of the project, the LIFE IP team from the Münster district government has compiled an up-to-date overview of the common spadefoot toad in North Rhine-Westphalia. It explains the numerous habitat measures and (re)introductions that have been carried out since 2012, initially as part of the LIFE+ project "Protection of the common spadefoot toad in the Münsterland" and since 2017 as part of LIFE IP. The 120-page publication has been published by Laurenti-Verlag as Volume 30 (Issue 2) of the "Zeitschrift für Feldherpetologie".
